About

 Hi, I’m Still a Wildflower…

I’m 53. My kids are grown. I’m remarried. And I’m at that interesting stage of life where I know a whole lot more than I did at 30—and somehow still have absolutely no idea what I’m doing sometimes.

I’ve loved hard. Made mistakes. Started over. Had my heart broken. Broken a few hearts myself. Questioned things I once swore I knew. Stayed too long in some places and probably left too soon in others.

And there have definitely been moments when I’ve looked around at my own life and thought…

How the hell did we get here?

Welcome to Still a Wildflower.

This is where I write about the stuff we’re apparently supposed to have figured out by now.

Marriage. Grown kids. Family drama. Getting older. Starting over. Friendships. Faith. Bodies that suddenly have their own agenda. And the strange experience of realizing that after spending decades taking care of everybody else, you might actually want to figure out who you are now.

I’m not interested in pretending everything is wonderful when it isn’t.

Sometimes marriage is hard.

Sometimes family is complicated.

Sometimes you love people and don’t particularly like them that day.

Sometimes you’re grateful for your life and still want to run away to a beach somewhere with a cocktail.

Both things can be true.

And then there’s my faith.

I love Jesus. Deeply.

But I’m not interested in shiny, perfect Christianity either. I’ve wrestled with God. I’ve questioned religion. I’ve watched people use the Bible beautifully—and I’ve watched people use it terribly.

Through all of it, somehow, I keep finding my way back to Him.

So you won’t find a perfectly curated life here.

You’ll find stories.

Some beautiful. Some uncomfortable. Some hilarious. Some I probably debated for three days before hitting publish.

You’ll find things we usually whisper about said a little louder.

And hopefully somewhere in my stories you’ll recognize a little bit of your own.

Because life has a way of knocking us down sometimes and other times we knock our own life down.

It’s surprised me.

Changed me.

Humbled me.

And occasionally pissed me off.

But it hasn’t stopped me from growing.

I’m still becoming.

Still questioning.

Still laughing.

Still believing.

And after of all of it…

Im still a wildflower.
